It comes as a suprise to many that the Red Devils' training and equipment needs are entirely self-funded. The team must raise around £150,000 each year to maintain the unrivalled balance of skill and safety on which their reputation stands - this is currently met through the team's commercial activities and with the generous help and support of several key product sponsors - including SEAT, OAKLEY and SUUNTO.
This unusual situation means that the Red Devils are in a position to offer an appropriate financial sponsor the unique marketing opportunity.
Brand Values & Target Audiences
Since 1964, the Red Devils have been communicating the values of courage and excellence long associated with the Parachute Regiment: they are dynamic and eager, tenacious and daring. Their clean cut and engaging style makes them approachable by all. Unlike many aerial display teams, the Red Devils are able to meet spectators following every performance - providing a unique marketing opportunity to a spellbound captive audience.
Although the team's primary target audience are those eligable for recruitment into the Parachute Regiment (16-24 year old males), the appeal of the Red Devils is universal - making them suitable for almost any type of event.
Unique Selling Points
Reputation: The Red Devils have over 40 years experience of conducting spectacular
parachute displays. They are the most capable parachute display team in the UK and arguably the world. They are the only parachute team in the UK with the expertise to fly both large canopy formations and small high performance parachutes on displays.
Versatility: In addition to their spectacular day time, land based displays, the team also have a water display capability as well as a pioneered, fully illuminated night display.
Size: The Red Devils are the largest parachute display team in the UK with 25 full time team members. This allows them the capability of mounting two separate 8-man displays at different locations at the same time -or one large 16-man display if necessary.
High Profile: The Red Devils attract more high profile display bookings than any other parachute display team in the UK and more media coverage than all other parachute display teams combined.
Courses: The Red Devils have both a tandem and Accelerated Freefall instructional capability. These skydiving courses can be used by a sponsor as a sales or marketing tool, staff incentive, team building or corporate facility or to raise money for an associated charity.
